Note of Thanks

The class would especially like to thank all those who participated in this project, and particularly the Second Ward High School Alumni Foundation and Friendship Baptist Church who contacted their members on our behalf and arranged interviews. Without your voices this project would not have been possible.  A number of people have helped over the years with the many digital versions of this website. I’d like to thank Suzanna T. Vasquez and Cecily Hamilton for helping launch the initial website, Pat Ryckman, Katie McCormick and the interns at the New South Voices Project. And I would especially like to thank Tina Wright for her help in updating the project and helping me track down the few people without permissions, and Alexander Chapman for redesigning the platform for the project.  I greatly appreciate all your work and encouragement and I hope that this website will prove useful to those in the former Brooklyn neighborhood and to all present and future Charlotteans.
